The Douglas County Land Conservation Department will be providing subsidized well water testing as part of a groundwater quality study. The goal of the study is to educate Douglas County residents on the safety of their drinking water, as well as to create a county-wide water quality report.
The test will include bacteria, nitrates, and a complete metals package. This is a $107.00 sample package that will cost residents only $20.00! This program is available to landowners and renters who utilize a private well in Douglas County. Sample kits are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
Participants must be able to pick up a testing kit from the Land Conservation office in the Douglas County Courthouse, Room 206, 1313 Belknap Street, Superior, between Monday, March 9th and Friday, March 13th. Samples must be taken on Monday, March 16th, and dropped off at either the Courthouse or the Solon Springs Community Center.
