VA Health Care

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System provides for the health care needs of Veterans in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

The Twin Ports VA Out-Patient Clinic, located in Superior WI, provides several services including Audiology, Ophthalmology, and Physical Therapy.

Enrollment

You must be enrolled in the Minneapolis VA Health Care System to receive treatment through the VA. Enrollment in VA health care is determined annually. Most honorably discharged veterans are eligible for treatment. There may be a co-payment required based on income. To apply for the VA health care, the Veteran must complete the proper form and supply a copy of their discharge papers.

Geriatrics and Extra Care

There are four categories of Long Term Services and Supports: Home and Community-Based Care, Residential Settings, Nursing Homes, and Geriatric Services. Home and Community-based Care can include: Home Based Primary Care; Respite Care; Skilled Home Health Care; Homemaker and Home Health Aide, and more. To receive this care, the Veteran must be enrolled in VA health care

Dental

Veterans may be eligible for VA dental benefits via insurance programs or direct care. Contact the Douglas County Veterans Service for more information on care availability.
