AMSOIL President and CEO, Al Amatuzio, founded his company on the same principles that defined his career as a jet fighter squadron commander – excellence, integrity and strong leadership. In 1972 AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil became the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements. It outperformed conventional oils on all counts, signaling a new age in lubrication science.
Amsoil lists five principals that guide their company. Number five: “AMSOIL will promote the prevention of pollution and provide a business model that is designed to be of minimal impact on the environment in which our products and services exist”. This explains why they have earned the most points of any Count Me Green business. They resubmitted their application when they had made significant environmental improvements. In addition to Count Me Green Amsoil is ISO 14001:2004 certified. This certification sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. ISO 14001:2004 certification indicates that AMSOIL takes environmental stewardship seriously and takes deliberate steps to minimizing the company’s environmental impact.
