Passports
The County Clerk's Office accepts passport applications Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, by appointment only.  Please schedule an appointment by calling 715-395-1341. Note: Passport applications processed prior to 2:30 p.m. will be mailed to the Department of State on the same day; applications processed after 2:30 p.m., will be mailed the following business day.

A passport book or passport card (only for land borders and sea ports-of-entry when traveling to/from Canada, Mexico, The Caribbean and Bermuda) is required when traveling anywhere outside of the United States.

Fees
Fees are to be made by two separate payments:
  • Passport Card 
    • Adults First Time (age 16 and over) - The total cost for a passport card is $55 
      • $30 must be in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of State
      • $25 can be in the form of cash, personal check, or money order made payable to the Douglas County Clerk
    • Minors (under age 16) - The total cost for a passport card is $40
      • $15 must must be in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of State
      • $25 can be in the form of cash, personal check, or money order made payable to the Douglas County Clerk
  • Passport Book
    • Adults First Time (age 16 and over) - The total cost for a passport book is $135
      • $110 must be in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of State
      • $25 can be in the form of cash, personal check, or money order made payable to the Douglas County Clerk
    • Minors (under age 16) - The total cost for a passport book is $105
      • $80 must be in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of State
      • $25 can be in the form of cash, personal check, or money order made payable to the Douglas County Clerk

Processing time for routine passports is 4-6 weeks. If a passport needs to be expedited, an additional fee of $60 is added to the portion payable to the U.S. Department of State.
