UPPER ST. CROIX/EAU CLAIRE RIVERS PRIORITY WATERSHED PROJECT

Project Goals

The goal of the Upper St. Croix/Eau Claire Rivers Priority Watershed Project is to enhance water quality by strengthening education and voluntary education and voluntary action, thus maintaining the biological integrity and natural character of the watershed.

The program provides technical and financial assistance for projects within the designated Priority Watershed area (see map).  Funding is available for projects through 2008.

The program focuses on:

	Restoring native vegetation and wildlife habitat on lake and stream shorelines;
	Controlling erosion and other sources of non-point pollution; and
	Reducing nutrients carried into water bodies from land-use activities, such as urban development, roads, and agriculture.
