Day Use ParksAnna-Gene County Park This day use area, on the north side of Lyman Lake, is 256 acres in size and is located approximately 20 miles south of Superior in the Town of Oakland. There is a picnic area with tables and grills, a children's playground, swimming beach, and restrooms. Camping is not allowed in the park. A system of trails is located in the wooded area from the parking lot to the lake, and a boat ramp with a dock is located outside the entrance gate. Lake Minnesuing County Park This 30 acre park is located approximately 25 miles south of Superior and sits on the north bank of Lake Minnesuing. There is a swimming beach, a nicely shaded picnic area with tables and grills, and newer vaulted toilets. Camping is not allowed. There is a boat launch approximately 1/4 mile west of the park. Long Lake County Park Long Lake County Park is three acres in size and is a day use area located in the Town of Solon Springs, approximately 35 miles south of Superior. Activities include fishing and swimming and a picnic area with tables and grills. Facilities include newer vaulted restrooms. Camping is not allowed. Bass Lake County Park Bass Lake County Park is approximately two acres in size and is a day use area located in the Town of Solon Springs, approximately 35 miles south of Superior. Park Creek Pond The Park Creek Pond Youth Fishing Area is an 11 acre pond located just west of Business 53 adjacent to the Douglas County Forestry Department in the Village of Solon Springs. The area is designated as a children's fishing area. Fish are occasionally stocked in the pond by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Children under the age of 14 can use this facility. This is a cooperative effort between Douglas County, the Village of Solon Springs, and the Town of Solon Springs. Benches and picnic tables are located adjacent to the County Forestry building on the north side of the pond. |
