The park has many hiking trails, a bateau shelter, children's playground, beautiful swimming beach, a large log pavilion with a fieldstone fireplace, many picnic areas with grills, and an open-air performing arts amphitheater, governed by the Lucius Woods Performing Arts Center, which hosts a series of summer concerts, including the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra.

All of this is located on the Upper Lake St. Croix, in Solon Springs, approximately 30 miles south of Superior on US Highway 53.

Gordon Dam County Park has a campground with 33 camping sites (including 12 with electrical hook-up) containing fire rings, picnic tables, and benches.  The Forestry Department is currently developing a self-registration system for this campground.

The park is located at the headwaters of the St. Croix Scenic Riverway, seven miles west of Gordon on County Road Y, which is approximately 37 miles south of Superior on US Highway 53.

Mooney Dam County Park has a campground with 11 wilderness camping sites containing fire rings, picnic tables, and benches.  The Forestry Department is exploring possibilities of converting the campground to use a self-registration system.
